I have thought about this way before New Paper came out with the article.
After attacking Arsenal dead, Man utd failed to make the attacks count.
Arsenal had no answer to ronaldo's mazy runs, and Rooney's grit and
determination. However, it didn't matter cause all they had to do was to
stop one person, and that's Van Nilsterooy. Cuz they knew, no matter what
happens, they seek Nilsterooy to open the floodgates, but he didn't. I
totally agree with selling Nilsterooy. Not because he is not in form, or
he's way past his prime. I feel that the team has been depending too much
on him. He is the reason Alex started playing the failed 4-5-1 system. He's
the reason Rooney, a striker by nature, has been pushed to the flanks. He's
also the reason Saha, a gifted striker, has been under-performing.
Nilsterooy cannot work with a partner. I do not doubt his talent, but a
team like Man Utd needs to axe such a player, as it does not do any good to
the rest of the team. I believe the sale of Nilsterooy will not only bring
good money but also give opportunities for a strike pairing, in the likes
of cole/Yorke or Sheringham/Solskjaer to develop. More importantly, it
might give reason for Fergie to finally develop rooney as a Striker that
he's destined to be.
Van Nilsterooy might be a scorer of many goals, but , unlike Cantona, he is
not a scorer of crucial goals Unless, he learns to play with a partner, I
doubt keeping him for the next season will do any good. With the damned
Glazer on board, I doubt next season will be any good. Get a good keeper
(I've been saying that at the end of every season, since Schmeichel left),
throw away redundant players (Kleberson, Bellion, Carroll and the bloody
Nevilles), spend a little on a Good replacement for Keane (Gerard, Alonso),
sell Nilsterooy and have some faith in youths like Rossi, eBanks and
Jonathan Spector. I'm not saying all these will be an instant remedy, but
it will be a great first step in redeveloping a reign that's lost. And, I
do believe it's time Ferguson step down, while he's still on top. David
Moyes should make a good replacement.
Man Utd doesn't need a good player. They just need a little bit of magic.
Magic that they used to get from Cantona, Beckham and Giggs of old. They
don't need skill, they just need more passion, and players like Alan Smith
can provide that. Whatever it is, here's to another poor season, seems like
a mirror image from the last, FA Cup aside. Glory Glory.

My dearest girfriend had a bad experience the other day, with a very
difficult customer. A very difficult Singaporean customer. It's not the
first time that she's encountered such a customer. It seems being in a
customer service line, bad customers become the worst job hazard. I've said
this before, Singapore has the best customer service and the worst
customers. I do wonder whether these Ugly Singaporeans act the same when
they're overseas. I doubt it. Generally, it seems that someone who flies
first class think he belongs to the upper class of society while the ones
who sold him the ticket, ushered him to his seat, served him his food and
drinks, all belong to the lower class. If Singapore prides itself in
Customer Service, then since when has it become a 2nd class job. If it
isn't, then who gave these ugly Singaporeans the right to treat Customer
Service Officers as slaves, as if Apartheid runs freely in this country.

As a Singaporean, I do admit I expect good customer service wherever I go,
and would be less than pleased if I encounter a rudes salesperson or
waiter. it doesn't matter whether I pay good money. All I expect is the
basic thank you and sorry (if he makes a mistake). I will not shout at the
person or call him/her names simply because I don't think I have the right
to. I do believe no one does.

And so where should the line be drawn? Between excellent customer service
and torturous tolerance/patience. If I were in my girlfriend's shoes, I
would have definitely, in a 'nice' way, countered what the bitch of a
customer said to me. of course, after that I would have probably lost my
job, or have my bonus suspended. I don't think my girlfriend wants that,
not now at least. I couldn't say the same about myself. I will never let
anyone de-grade me like that. My ego's too big, to withstand it.

The sad part about this is, the worst customers are locals. And, although I
don't have to blatantly say it here, the locals are usually of a certain
race. Who gave them the fucking right, I wonder.

"Apple does not do repairs, just replacements." This is after I spend 45
excruciating minutes in the bus and 30 minutes walking around Ang Mo Kio
Industrial Estate, just to find the Apple Service Centre. When I got a 3G
40GB iPod for a birthday present from my girlfriend, it was the best
present I've ever received. After some time, I realised that while it is
the best present I have received, it is not necessarily the best product in
the market. Firstly, the battery life is very 'Eveready", but of course,
this is a known fact. That doesn't really bother me that much cuz it I
don't travel.

What bothers me is that recently, I recently I realised that the front
cover and back cover of the iPod are not joint properly. My belief is, it
is due to poor workmanship. I have never dropped my iPod, cuz if I had,
then there would probably be a dent on it. There isn't any. And due to
Apple's replace niot repair policy, I have to live with this slight
imperfection. I used to choose not to believe, but I think it's true that
Apple is now more focussed on design than aything else. I am very angry
with the response given to me by the Apple staff, and I am sure as hell
gonna complain.

No matter what, I still think Apple churns out good products, but their
after sales service is just something else. They will only have product
recalls when it's a mass dysfunction. As such, individuals like me have to
suffer. Geram tak terhingga. That said, it is still the best birthday
present I've ever received. Though, it wouldn't make me convert to the Mac.
Those Apple enthusiasts have been victims of great marketing. PC forever

I've said this once and I'll say it again. Manchester United has lost its
magic. A few years back, when everyone thinks that Manchester United's
going to lose a miracle happens, and they'll either escape with a point or
score a very late dramatic winner. It happened so often that you, or I more
like it, always expect it to happen. It's been disappointment after
disappointment. And it all started when Alex Ferguson decided to have big
money signings, to concentrate on Europe. That's the bluddy problem. Cuz,
the big money signings have never performed. Nilsterooy has been a proven
goal-scorer but his goals were never crucial. Rooney and Ronaldo still got
a lot of years ahead of them, but I'd rather these talents come from the
youth academy. Roy Keane should retire for his own good, cuz he doesn't
deserve the lack of determination from his team mates. And sadly but most
importantly, Sir Alex ferguson, the man who made all the glory possible,
should call it quits. Manchester United needs a new manage, someone who's
never tasted success and someone who's hungry for it. My main candidate is
David Moyes. It really pains me o see Manchester United in this state. I
don't mind them losing, but they're playing like shit. There's no width and
definitely no ideas. Manchester United was never successful playing lone
striker so why the hell are they continuing the bluddy formation. Why the
hell is Rooney running like a bluddy sprinter along the left flank. And why
is Gary Fucking Neville still in the team. Alex needs to leave cuz without
him, all favouritism will disappear.

It's time for a change.

Oh yah, in 10 years time, if my chidren suffer, then I only have myself to
blame.

As many might have known by now, I'm not a big fan of politics. I have
observed a trend that Uni undergrads tend to be either passively or
actively, directly or indirectly but mostly voluntarily involved in
politics or discussions on it. When my friends start talking politics, I
switch off. I love deep conversations but when that topic arises, I stare
at them like an airhead. I have no intention of learning more about my
country simply because I don't know how that knowledge can help me.
Furthermore, you can never find an official book with absolute truth in it.
What you have, mostly, is conspiracy theories and more conspiracy theories.
Of course, I acknowledge there are many unsettling matters that make you
cringe in your seat, makes you wanna stand up and do something about it.
However, the sad truth is we can't and we won't. Cuz most of us want to
dedicate our lives in achieving personal goals like having a career,
building a family and preparing for the afterlife. Now, wait a minute. We
can achieve all of that without having to care too much about politics?
What's the problem then? Sure there are few glitches in the system, here
and there, but the fact that most of us can carry on with our education, go
to the hospital and get good treatment, make money without paper
qualifications, have good infrastructure, great public transportation and
more than enough amenities anywhere in the country, kind of shows that
we're well taken care of. Doesn't it?
You have politics. And then you have the politics of politics. And after
that, you have the politics of the politcs of politics. On and on. It is an
interesting topic to share over tea and coffee at your designated
coffeeshop, amongst your friends but I believe there are 101 better things
to talk about. As such I treat these conversations as entertaining
stories, like how I treat the many ghost stories that's been going around.
I'd rather not get too hard up about. For those who are, well if we really
were in a bad situation, I doubt you would have found the resources to
develop your mindset to such a complex level. Overseas education really
opens up your eyes to many things, but if you changed because of that, then
you're never concrete in the first place.
My stand is, be greatful with what you have cuz it will last till the day
you die. People say living outside Singapore is a good move. Without
sounding patriotic, I say that I love what my country has to offer and am
glad that I'm staying here. Of course, winning the TOTO would make me love
it more.
That aside, I am still interested in what's happening outside the country,
simply because I feel that it's more severe and more obvious. Of course,
talking about it doesn't do much or any good. Noted.
